Privacy Policy.

Last updated: 15 April 2026

This policy explains what personal data Is Right Liverpool collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We aim to keep this short and plain-English. If anything's unclear, email hello@isrightliverpool.com.

Who we are

Is Right Liverpool is an independent publication based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller for personal data collected through this site.

What we collect

Email signups. If you join the list, we collect your email address and the date you subscribed. That's it. You don't need to give us a name.

Contact messages. If you email us, we'll keep the message and your email address so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.

Analytics. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which posts people read. This does not identify you personally, does not track you across other sites, and does not require a cookie banner under UK guidance.

Why we collect it

To send you the emails you asked for, to reply when you get in touch, and to know which articles are working so we write more of those. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers.

Legal basis

We rely on your consent for email marketing (you ticked the box) and on legitimate interest for responding to messages you send us and for aggregated site analytics.

How long we keep it

Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe, or until the list has been inactive for 24 months and we retire it. Contact emails: up to 24 months from the last reply. Analytics: aggregated and non-identifying; retained indefinitely.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to show you what data we hold on you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email the address below and we'll sort it within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off. We don't make you email us or jump through hoops.
